Today, I was working with him and Sage on sit and lay down. Kobe is an enigma - he tries to steal treats from Sage, but eats his meals over several hours. If Kobe could write, he would problably say: "Mommy likes to sing "I think I love you" by David Cassidy; her favorite phrase is "Kobe No!"; and laughs when I smile. I like running and napping with daddy. I like playing with Sage especially when I make her angry."

Two weeks and counting
It seems like we have had Kobe for ages so I'm surprised that we've had him for less than 3 weeks. He's gotten used to his kennel, but makes me chase him around to get him in. He's eaten the plug on my hair dryer, the cord on our vacuum cleaner, and the heel of one of my high heels. That is not unexpected. The first couples years that we had Barkley, we played the "What did Barkley eat?" game. His favorites were unopened tin cans, exercise bands, paper towels, and silica gels (little packages that suck up moisture.) Even as 7 year old, Sages likes to chews things up, here's a video of her.

Hyperactive Boy
Normally, Kobe is a mix of puppy exuberance and rest. Today, he was on fire. I think the nap that he took with Jere and Sage energized him. He wasn't wild as much as antsy. If we were in the bedroom, he wanted to be in the living room. If I was in the living room, he was wandering the house looking for shoes and other inappropriate items to eat.
While watching a movie, Kobe would bark at us. I knew he didn't need to go, but I let him out to go play. He did this several times. After the movie, I took the dogs for a walk around the neighborhood.
Kobe had us laughing too. I was tickling Jere and Kobe started nipping Jere, which he stopped once Jere squealed. Kobe made some of the funniest faces; I wish I could describe them. I laughed so hard I could feel it in the deepest part of my abs. I wish I had videos or photographs to share the humor.
Here a video of Kobe and Sage playing. It's the prequel to Treats.

Outside Antics
Kobe had his first vet's visit on Saturday. Kobe had fun at the vet's office; he got to play with some other dogs, got petted by some children, and just chilled out. He's still nervous about the vehicle, he threw up in the back. In time he'll relax and hopefully grow out of it. If not, we'll change our modus operandi to fit his needs.
Kobe been dominating Sage, which she doesn't like. Hopefully, Kobe can work out some puppy energy with his new playmate, Murphy. Here's Sage and Kobe playing in the yard.

Dog Humor
Kobe is hilarious. What he picks up and how he reacts is fun to watch. I've been training him -- sit, settle, and fetch. He's learned that if he wants a treat he should sit down. Sometimes once he gets the treat he runs into the other room to eat it.
I stayed home today; I'm still getting over my cold. I got to watch Sage and Kobe play. Later in the day, I found out that Kobe is a poopsicle fiend. Yes, he brings his "treats" into the house. Yuck! I'll have to call the vet tomorrow so I can deter this behavior.

I worry about Sage and Kobe getting along. She's 7-years old and he's 7-months old. Oh, sure I have pictures of them curling up, but that's usually where she's sleeping and he creeps in next to her, like this picture.
While she has her moments where she can't stand his annoying puppiness. I believe Sage is a dog who likes the company of another dog. I am pleasantly surprised to notice that she curled up next to Kobe. She was originally laying next to me; I think it's a really good sign that she switched to him.

It's time to curl up for the night.

Dallas 2, Jacquelyn 0
My day started off pretty good. I went shopping at North Park Center. That night, I went to the
Cowboys Stadium. It was difficult to watch my Eagles lose, but more so around drunk cowboy fans. I drove back to my hotel and got lost in downtown Dallas; it took me an hour to get to the hotel room.
Hopefully I don't have any problems getting to Broken Bow. I'll make sure to bring directions to and from, this time. I can't wait to get Red and go home.

First Day in Dallas
Dallas 1, Jacquelyn 0
Seven hours on a plane starting off with a red eye flight wiped me out. It took me 2 hours to find my hotel room. By then all I wanted to do was eat some dinner and rest. I did what anybody would do when they're in a new place . . . had dinner at Wendy's.
Tomorrow, I have the Eagles vs. Cowboys games. Hopefully, I will get the right amount of shopping and touristy stuff that I will be not tired at the game. We'll see . . . .

4 hours to go
Spending my last couple of hours with Jere and Sage, while I pack my bags and double check my lists. Sage knows something is up; she staying close to me. Keeping an eye on me in case I make a break for it. Jere is taking a nap and I'm making sure that all my technology is charged. I'm bringing my computer, mp3, cell phone, PSP, camera and flip video camera. Yeah, probably too much technology. I want to stay entertained and make sure I document my trip.
Sage graduated her training class, yesterday. Yeah for Sage!

Less than 5 days to go
I've spent the weekend cleaning the house, putting away the xmas tree decorations, and preparing for my upcoming trip. I put up my 2010 dog calendar up and the January quote is: When you're in deep, have faith. Happiness could be just over the horizon.
